Wonderful job, very creative

Makes you wonder if they had lyrics in mind when they first started composing those songs. I'd love to see a take on Epona's song as well, can't do much worse than "EEEEEEEH AAAAAAHHH OOOOOH" "EEEEEEEH AAAAAAHHH OOOOOH" "EEEEE AAAAAAH OOOOHHH EEHHH OOOOH"

VGSongbird responds:

Lol that's true. I am doing a remix of Lon Lon Ranch; no lyrics though. Just "ooh"s.

I hope when I post it that you enjoy it :D

Wow, loved it

Spekkio's tune is one of those songs that you cant help but get stuck in your head. This arrangement is no exception. Great job, definitely finding a place to use this.

RobSoundtrack responds:

Thanks a ton!

Five seconds in and I had to download it

Listening to the rest as it's downloading, and I'm glad I did.

Loved it

This is a fantastic piece. This should be way above other compositions, because it doesn't sound like you used tracks for the sake of it. It sounds like you used tracks because they were appropriate to the tone you were going for. Keep up the good work.

Sephirot24 responds:

Thx a lot man! This was the 1st time I played with the keyboard and I was inspired by it. I'll start studying this year to become a professional, so I bet you'll see more original stuff from now on ^^

Thx a lot for reviewing! :)

You're doing good work.

I liked this a lot, it's exactly the kind of upbeat, catchy tune I expect from a Big Band. If you havn't listened to it before, check out the Mario and Zelda live concert by the Big Band of Rogues, you should be able to find a few of the tunes on Youtube at the least. That is a great example of an awesome Big Band, hopefully it'll give you some ideas on improving the arrangement.

Otherwise, keep it up. I hope to see more from you.

Tombor911 responds:

Thank you very much for the review and I have already seen the big band of rogues i love it!

You are a professional.

This is one of the few songs from NG I've downloaded and added to my mp3 player, and I'm not even a fan of this kind of music. The odd, faded introduction feels like I'm walking along the downtown streets, when all of the sudden I hear this music coming from somewhere. When it hits full swing it's like I've entered some awesome party with killer music and lights. I wont stay long because I can't dance for shit and my ears are sensitive to loudness, but I bet as long as music like this is playing everyone's having a great time.

I think what sets this song apart from alot of others is the subtlety. For example, I notice the drum beat uses two seperate snares, thump clap thump clap. Instead of the more common thump thump thump thump.

I wish I had more observations, but it's hard for someone not of this genre to elaborate. still, I found it very appealing, and that clearly indicates you're doing alot of things right. Keep it up.

Good start, but you need to work on your synching

It has the right mood to it for a dungeon, the whole underground setting (preferably a sewer) would work well for this. However, there is a background noise that gets in the way of the beat. Its the one that sounds like a very fast heartbeat. It sort of goes off at any time really, and can interrupt the main beat. Try to work on that..

Nyzzo-K-F-Die responds:

i kinda meant to put that in there and i didn't save it so i cant change it.

Wow! Excellent.

I actually like this better than that official orchestrated one, you know, the one by the big people...But, theres one insturment I felt wasnt in place. its the one the sounds like you pulling on a very tight string. Like your hitting something, its kind of like a drumroll, but more metallic. It has it solo part at the start, right after the opening bang. I didnt like that one too much. Doesnt fit the whole orchestrated mood of it.

Everything else was fantastic though.

Eh, It ok I suppose.

Its just, especially in the beginning, the harmonium really gets in the way of the harp. I dont think they compliment eachother too well. Still, this is a pretty cool effort. Just, try to find a different instrument for the harp, preferably one that is more in the background.

Man, was that a slap in the face!

I remember when I first faced off with Culex, and that battle theme played. Oh boy was I giddy. Heh, keep it up, Id love to hear some original compositions from you though, Im sure you can do a good job with them.

Good to see you Newgrounds, I used to animate way way waaay back in the day, you can see what I did is all still available. I wasn't perfect then, still aren't either but what can ya do?
